Xiaomi today launched the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi MIX Alpha smartphones on a launch event in China. The Chinese company launched the update to MIUI 11 as well. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro is the cheapest 5G phone in China that only set users back CNY 3699 (~$520).
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G features some of the exciting characteristics including Snapdragon 855+, 30W Wireless charging and 48-megapixel back cameras.
Concerning the design, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is similar to the Xiaomi Mi 9 phone announced this year in February. The Mi 9 Pro 5G with front and rear glass panels with a metal frame measuring 157.21 x 74.64 x 8.54 mm and weighing 196 grams only.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has a 6.39-inches Super AMOLED display alongside a dot notch. The smartphone provides a screen-to-body ratio of 90.7% with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio on board. The display of the phone is integrated with a super-fast fingerprint scanner too.
A smartphone is driven by the 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855 + mobile platform – paired with a whopping 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB in-house storage. Unfortunately, an external microSD card is not supported. The Mi 9 Pro is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with 40W wired charge support that takes less than 48 minutes to charge entirely from 0% to 100% by using a provided 45W charger.
The smartphone provides better haptic feedback because it flaunts a customised linear motor that vibrates when playing games, zooming on cameras or typing. It comes with the same cameras on the Mi 9 devices. This provides users with the front-facing camera of 20MP whereas outback, there is a 48MP + 12MP + 16MP camera configuration.
