Sony has all set to launch an updated version of Xperia 1 named Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition on October 25th, as mentioned in our yesterday post. According to the online sources and a plethora of Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition rumours, it’s likely to come with an updated display, support for LAN Ethernet connection via USB Type-C port and much more.
The rest of the features are the same as Xperia 1 (released earlier this year at MWC). The phone flaunts a triple rear camera configuration, Snapdragon 855 Chipset, 6.5-inches HDR Compatible display, and a 3300mAh non-removable battery.
Though it looks a lot like Xperia 1, undoubtedly, it’s backed by quite a few additions and the most notable is Ethernet connectivity through a USB Type-C Port. The cable, however, isn’t shipped by the company, unfortunately.
The phone has a pre-installed Image Edge Mobile App – enabling users to transfer files wirelessly whereas Tagging add-on enables to crate voice captions to photos and tags.
Other Xperia 1 Professional Edition Specs include the Android 9.0 Pie operating system, a 6.5-inches 4K HDR display with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels. The display is based on OLED technology with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset works like a brain – partnered with 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard memory (expandable further up to 512GB via MicroSD Card).
Optics-wise, Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition is backed by a tri-camera setup outback – consists of a 12MP primary camera, 12MP secondary camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x Optical Zoom. The configuration also features Optical Image Stabilization and Video Stabilization.
An 8MP camera on the front, on the other hand, is positioned to assist you in selfies and video calls. In terms of power, Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition packs a 3300mAh non-removable battery – supported by Xperia Adaptive Charging and comes with Stamina Mode as well as Smart Stamina. A bunch of connectivity options that come alongside the phone includes USB Type-C, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, 4G and of course, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac.
Price and Availability
The official Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition release date is set to be October 25th, 2019, in Japan. The availability of that phone for the other countries isn’t yet known. It’s even too prompt to put an educated guess as Sony didn’t say anything about international availability.
As for Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition Price, it goes for a whopping JPY 143,000 (~$1315) with a single colour option – Black. Indeed, it’s not an ideal phone for those who are tight on budget but if you don’t mind spending bucks a little extra, Xperia 1 Professional Edition is the best phone to go for.
