LG G8s ThinQ Dual Front and Triple Rear Cameras
One of the most impressive aspects of this gorgeously designed beast, undoubtedly, is its front TOF (Time of Flight) sensor which is capable enough to detect user’s palm with ease. Moreover, the TOF sensor makes use of IR in order to unlock the handset by scanning the entire palm alongside palm’s veins. This is called Hand ID by LG. The G8s ThinQ users will also be able to trigger Air Motion gestures using a TOF sensor and once the hand is recognized, two specific applications will be pulled down. Either you move your hand on the right side or left side, you can select one of these apps easily. There are some numerous apps that will allow further controls such as pause and play. In order to avail this feature, your hand should be twisted in the same way one would adjust a dial.
Aside from a TOF sensor, LG G8s ThinQ also houses an 8MP camera on its front for selfies and video calls. Taking a look at the back of the handset, it’s equipped with a standard 12MP main camera, 13MP secondary wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera for 2x optical zoom.
The primary 12MP and 12MP telephoto cameras are equipped with the Optical Image Stabilization feature. This triple camera configuration also records 4K videos with up to 60 frames per second.
LG G8s ThinQ Display, Processor, and RAM
The major notable difference between a predecessor LG G8 ThinQ and LG G8s ThinQ is the size of the displays. A predecessor is offering a QHD+ display whereas the G8s ThinQ comes with 6.2-inches display – based on P-OLED Technology. despite its lower resolution, the display doesn’t compromise on its quality and offers support for Dolby Vision, HDR alongside 100% coverage of DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Digging down inside G8s ThinQ, it’s loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset (higher than the predecessor). The Chipset is partnered with a whopping 6GB of RAM – thus, switching between apps, playing games or working on multiple apps, everything is super-smooth without any hiccup. Onto storage, LG G8s ThinQ comes in two different storage tiers to choose from – 64GB or 128GB (expandable up to 1TB via microSD card).
LG G8s ThinQ Battery and Others
The available amount of battery in LG G8s ThinQ is 3550mAh which is supported by Quick Charge 3.0 through a USB Type-C Port. Expecting a wireless charging wouldn’t be wrong but at a slower speed. Alongside a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, LG G8s ThinQ offers Stereo speakers and it even supports DTS: X surround sound. A bunch of connectivity options include Dual-band, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, aptX, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0. And for sensors, it comes with barometer, compass, proximity, gyro, accelerometer and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
